Menfi

The Head of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Menfi, received Monday a letter from the President of the Republic of the Congo, Chairman of the High-Level Committee on Libyan Affairs, Denis Sassou Nguesso.

The Presidential Council's media office said that the letter was delivered by the Congolese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jean-Claude Gakosso.

During their meeting, Menfi stressed the necessity of completing the national reconciliation file, considering it a basis for building the Libyan state, adding that its success will pave the way toward the parliamentary and presidential elections that all Libyans aspire to.

The meeting saw a discussion about the latest developments in the national reconciliation file, the steps the Presidential Council had taken in preparation for the comprehensive national reconciliation conference that is scheduled to be held next April, and the proposals that guarantee the success of this major national event.

On Sunday and Monday, Gakosso participated in the fourth regular meeting of the Preparatory Committee for National Reconciliation, which was held in the city of Zuwara, in the presence of members of the Preparatory Committee, and representatives of all the main parties participating in the political process in Libya.
