The National Security Advisor Ibrahim Bushnaf has discussed with the Italian Ambassador to Libya, Gianluca Alberini, bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to develop them.
In a meeting held in the city of Benghazi in the presence of the Italian Consul, the two sides discussed the current situation in Libya, and Italy’s role in bringing the views of the Libyan parties closer together to end the state of division and complete the election process.
Bushnaf presented the council’s vision for resolving the crisis through a dialogue in which all parties contribute. The vision aims to establish a unified government that works to hold a referendum on the constitution and hold elections.
For his part, the Italian ambassador stressed the need to take practical steps by working with the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, stressing that his country will spare no effort to end the state of Libyan division.
