HNEC hosts seminar to discuss Libya's political stalemate, elections
The Media Center of the High National Elections Commission (HNEC) hosted Saturday a seminar organized by the Libya Monitor Center for Dialogue and Peacebuilding under the title “Addressing the Political Stalemate to Hold General Elections,” as part of the activities of the Political Parties Forum.
The seminar was attended by the HNEC Chairman Emad Al-Sayeh, and a number of representatives of political parties, researchers, and activists interested in electoral and political affairs, according to a statement issued by the HNEC.
Libya greenlights easier investment path for China
Minister of Economy and Trade Mohammed Al-Hawij has instructed the relevant departments to streamline procedures and accelerate investment projects for Chinese companies seeking to enter the Libyan market.
Al-Hawij made these directives during a meeting with Leo Jian, the Charge d'Affaires of China to Libya, aimed at discussing economic and trade relations between the two countries.
North Africa Classic Car Show
The first show for classic car owners in North Africa was held in Tripoli by Tripoli Classic Car Club, in the presence of the mayor of the central municipality of Tripoli, the ambassadors of Algeria and Mexico in Libya, and classic cars fans.
More than 50 cars and motorcycles from Libya, Tunisia and Algeria participated in the show.
Gang leader sentenced to prison for fuel smuggling charges
The Criminal Court has convicted the leader of a criminal gang for deliberately trafficking illegal fuel off the coast of Zuwara city.
The court sentenced the defendant to six years and six months in prison and ordered him to repay around 113,549,821 Libyan dinars.
Additionally, he was deprived of his civil rights for the duration of the sentence and two years after its completion.
The Public Prosecutor's Office clarified Tuesday that investigations revealed the gang's deliberate smuggling of 165,669 litres of diesel fuel.
National "Reading Challenge" takes off, Souk Al-Jumaa hosts first stage

The Director of Kufra Teaching Hospital, Ismail Al-Ayda, has expressed concern about the spread of infectious diseases among displaced individuals arriving from Sudan to Kufra. He noted that the Ministry of Health has declared a state of emergency in response to this situation.
Al-Ayda described the health situation in the city as extremely critical, highlighting that a significant number of displaced individuals are suffering from infectious and potentially life-threatening diseases such as tuberculosis, AIDS, viral hepatitis, malaria, and various skin conditions.
