PM Dbeiba condemns Israeli attack on Gaza, calls for economic cooperation among Islamic countries

Libya’s Prime Minister Abdel Hamid Dbeiba has called for cooperation among Islamic countries in several important areas of the economy.

This came during his participation, in the capacity of Foreign Minister-designate, in the third session of the Arab Economic and Cooperation Forum with the countries of Central Asia and Azerbaijan, held in the Qatari capital, Doha, on April 29-30.

Libyan Minister of Finance Khaled Al-Mabrouk and Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Marai Al-Barasi, held talks with the Sudanese Minister of Finance and Planning, Jibril Ibrahim, on Sudan’s stability for the benefit of neighbouring countries, including Libya, which was greatly affected by the war over the past year.

The first show for classic car owners in North Africa was held in Tripoli by Tripoli Classic Car Club, in the presence of the mayor of the central municipality of Tripoli, the ambassadors of Algeria and Mexico in Libya, and classic cars fans.

 More than 50 cars and motorcycles from Libya, Tunisia and Algeria participated in the show.

Relief for family as kidnapped child reunited in Benghazi

The Public Prosecutor's Office confirmed on Saturday the liberation of a child from his captors in Benghazi and the apprehension of those involved in the crime.

According to a statement from the office, they received reports of the abduction of three-year-old Mohammed Ahmed, a Chadian national, to extort his family for a ransom of 20,000 dinars.

National "Reading Challenge" takes off, Souk Al-Jumaa hosts first stage

The Ministry of Education launched the first phase of the "Reading Challenge" competition on Sunday at the Abdullah bin Masoud School under the supervision of the Education Directorate in Souk Al-Jumaa.

Minister of Education Musa Al-Maqreif announced in his address at the opening ceremony that the ministry intends to roll out a national version of the initiative, distributing libraries to 900 educational institutions in the near future.

State of emergency declared in Kufra as displaced population brings disease outbreak

The Director of Kufra Teaching Hospital, Ismail Al-Ayda, has expressed concern about the spread of infectious diseases among displaced individuals arriving from Sudan to Kufra. He noted that the Ministry of Health has declared a state of emergency in response to this situation.

Al-Ayda described the health situation in the city as extremely critical, highlighting that a significant number of displaced individuals are suffering from infectious and potentially life-threatening diseases such as tuberculosis, AIDS, viral hepatitis, malaria, and various skin conditions.
